• This article should be one of the first you read after you have accessed the tool for the first time, as the first user, since the tool won't come alive until you start adding some roles in the tool.
  • All access to the tool is handled through a role, so in order to invite any of your colleagues, you need to create their role in Node, and then invite them to this role by providing their name and email address.
  • This article is about adding roles manually. If you are a large organization you will probably populate the tool with roles through your Active Directory or similar.

How to add roles

  • Adding a role is possible on both in the mobile tool as well as in the desktop tool. In mobile you do it straight from the profile view by clicking on the plus sign in the upper right corner, and on desktop you go the menu "Roles" and then press the blue button on the right dialogue.
  • After you have filled out the role title of the role you wish to create, you have two choices. Either you invite your colleague straight away, or you set it as vacant and invite your colleague to it at a later stage.
  • When you have filled out the information simply click the button "Create Role" and the role will be created. Created roles will always be place "under" the role you were on when you clicked "Add role". Read on below to see how to move roles.
  • You can of course also add vacant roles to roles that are in fact vacant (open positions). It is even possible to suggest OKRs to such a role (it is only possible to add an OKR to a role that isn't yours if it is vacant). Read more on how to add an OKRs to learn more.

How to move roles

  • It isn't possible to move a role while creating it, you need to create it first as described above.
  • To move a role, go the role you want to move and choose edit role.
  • To move a role, you need to change the role it reports to.
  • Once created, you can move a role to any other role you wish by changing the role it should report to.
  • The role tree is hierarchical so every role except the "top" role reports to some other role. If you want to move a role to the top, or the "root" as we call it, simply select the parent role and choose "Set as root".
  • You can create an infinite number of roles.
